Dreenan
Lodge is a beautifully appointed B&B accommodation,
situated on the banks of the River Finn, just three
minutes from the twin towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar.
This spacious, family run guesthouse offers five comfortable
bedrooms - all finished to the highest standard. Rooms
en suite with television, hairdryer and access to tea
and coffee making facilities. The proprietor is a qualified
chef, and therefore a full, delicious Irish Breakfast
is always guaranteed!
While this part of Donegal is not noted for tourism,
there are plenty of local attractions - including salmon
fishing in the world renowned River Finn, hiking and
hill-walking on the nearby Blue Stack Mountains, an
excellent 18 hole golf course, or for those who enjoy
shopping for that special gift, there's McElhinney's
Stores - one of the best department stores in Ireland,
and the ideal place to pick up European fashions and
Irish souvenirs alike. The area offers an excellent
selection of pubs and restaurants, some with traditional
music
and the craic's always good!
The towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar are linked by
an arched bridge over the River Finn, and in Stranorlar's
Protestant Church is the grave of Isaac Butt (1813 -
1879), founder of the Irish Home Rule movement. You
can also enjoy a peaceful stroll along the riverbank
and through Drumboe Woods, where Nature abounds.
Whether you intend coming for walking, golfing, fishing,
scenic drives, or just relaxing - at Dreenan Lodge,
you will be given a warm welcome.
