Ballybofey's Patsy McGonagle, Donegal Person of the Year 2001 and Vice-Chairman of the Irish Athletics Association, opened this, the 7th Annual Brockagh Lammas Fair.

Patsy is nationally acclaimed in sporting circles, and has made a huge contribution to the highly successful Finn Valley Athletics Club, which he founded in 1971. Since then, he has worked tirelessly for the youth of the Finn Valley, Donegal and the rest of Ireland, coaching at local, national and international level.

While not even the presence of such an honoured guest could hold back the rain, Glenfin still turned out for the start of this year's Lammas Fair.
