The River Finn
Oh, River Finn of ours,
Your way is tangled,
Your journey is twisted
But your trail is fast.
From the lake yonder at the foot of the hill
To the end of your journey,
Many an obstacle you overcome.
There's not a time I hear your gentle murmuring
That I don't stand to listen and imagine to myself,
That it is the voice of Saints begging me
Not to lose my mind on the ways of the world.
Sincere thanks to Mary McGowan, Stranorlar.
