The late Mr Jack Lillis, a native of Galway, left his employment
as an officer with Galway Civil Defense to take up the duty of Second
Fire Officer with Donegal Fire Service in 1963.
Jack assumed responsibility for drilling and training the part-time
firemen in the County, including Stranorlar & Ballybofey Fire
Service. Retired members of S&B Fire Brigade have fond memories
of Jack's vast experience of firemanship and bright sence of humour.
The Donegal Fire Service remembers with great sadness, Jack's death
in 1981, while still employed by Donegal County Council.
