The inscription reads...

This Clock Tower commemorates the founders and employees of the County Donegal Railways which had it's headquarters at this site.
The C.D.R. originally called the Finn Valley Railway Co. was registered in 1859.
The company's official coat of arms bore the inscription "BE JUST AND FEAR NOT".
The first Train arrived in Stranorlar in 1863.
The railway system was subsequently extended to Ballyshannon, Glenties, Killybegs and Letterkenny.
At it's peak there were 130 employees.
It closed in 1959 having served the people of Donegal well for 100 years.
