The clock housed in this tower is the original Railway
Station Clock which was first installed in 1863 as the date stone indicates.
Stranorlar Town Action Group organised this project on behlaf of the people of the Twin Towns.
It was officially opened at midnight on 31/12/1999
by Mr Peter Kennedy
Chairman Donegal County Council.
To mark the new millennium, a time capsule is set in the base of this tower to be opened at the end of the year 2099.
