On Letterbrick hillside in the year '71,
Kilteevogue has answered the call of one man.
Twas the priest of the parish, no better therein.
He was opening a new church at the head of Glenfin

Now we met the Lord Bishop, both inside and out
He left down his crozier - an honour no doubt
He left down his crozier and the people flocked in
To this lovely St Joseph's at the head of Glenfin

We knelt down in silence, the mass then begun.
We prayed with the Bishop, the priests and the nun.
The church bells rang out, and the choir sang in
This lovely St Joseph's at the head of Glenfin

Now the Lord Bishop's sermon, it sure rang a bell.
He thanked our grand Pastor, and parishioners as well.
Saying God's house is a credit to my kith and kin
This lovely St Joseph's at the head of Glenfin

Our pastor made answers and acknowledged us all,
And told us the old chapel was ready to fall.
Sure he thanked the Almighty as he blessed it within.
