Shivering and shining near
the shade
Of some lonely wood or vale,
Emerald waters of forests green haunt your banks
Or is it another world I see in your deep ponds?
The earth, the air and the heavens all bow to your
mystic merger.
What natural grace do you want to release, of things
that
One green and one blue begin your downward race?
Your bubbling banks and life giving veins overflowing
With upraised foliage.
Unlimiting time and space surrounds the currents,
Superior to any other.
Time seems to stand still, yet the seasons revolve
around you,
Gold in Autumn and new in Spring and all things
by love united.
I often think of you, dear river, especially as
the sun goes down.
